Freeport Schools Closed Due to Water Main Break

FREEPORT –  The Freeport School District is canceling classes today due to a water main break.  The City of Freeport issued a citywide boil order yesterday after a large portion of the city was affected by a broken water main on Cottonwood Street.  The school district released a statement saying schools are closed because they “rely on safe water access throughout the day, especially for food preparation and student services.”  The boil order will remain in effect until further notice.
