Former Chicago White Sox pitcher and World Series champion Bobby Jenks is dead at 44-years-old. The team announced Saturday that Jenks passed on July 4th in Sintra, Portugal.
Jenks died following a battle with stage-four stomach cancer.
The two-time MLB All-Star tied a league record in 2007, recording 41 consecutive outs as a closer for the team. Jenks recorded a save in Game Four of the 2005 World Series against the Houston Astros to clinch the team’s first title since 1917.
