DEKALB – The City of DeKalb is now accepting public comments on its draft 2026 Annual Action Plan for the Community Development Block Grant program. This federal program provides funding to improve affordable housing and expand economic opportunities for low income and moderate income residents. City officials expect to receive about $400,000 for the upcoming program year that begins in April. Residents can review the plan online at the city website or in person at City Hall and the DeKalb Public Library. Written comments are due by 5 p.m. on Monday to Community Services Coordinator Jennifer Yochem. The City Council will also hold a public hearing to discuss the plan during its regular meeting at 6 p.m. on Monday at the library.
