SYCAMORE — The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office reported one impaired driving arrest and 38 seat belt citations during the St Patricks Day enforcement period from March 13 through early March 23. Deputies also issued 12 speeding citations, eight citations for using a cell phone without a hands free device, 13 citations for no insurance, five citations for driving on a suspended or revoked license, four citations for children not properly secured, and 13 other citations. The enforcement effort was conducted in partnership with state and local agencies as part of a holiday traffic safety campaign funded through federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
