SYCAMORE — The DeKalb County Community Foundation awarded more than $436,000 in scholarships this year to 169 students through 214 individual awards, averaging over $2,500 per recipient. Sycamore High School students received the largest share at $91,825, followed by DeKalb High School at $70,400 and Genoa-Kingston at $41,250. Awards also supported Kishwaukee College students with $39,625 and Northern Illinois University students with $59,050. Of the total, $51,925 went to students at two-year colleges and trade schools, $285,100 to those attending four-year institutions, and $99,050 to postgraduate students. New scholarships added this year include the DeKalb High School Outstanding ESL Student Scholarship and several family and community service awards.
