FORRESTON — Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies and Forreston EMS responded to a two vehicle crash around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of North Walnut Avenue and East Main Street in Forreston. Deputies said a 39-year-old Byron driver allegedly disregarded a stop sign on North Walnut Avenue, entered the intersection, and struck a vehicle driven by a 49-year-old Forreston resident on East Main Street. The Byron driver was treated for minor injuries and taken to an area hospital. The Forreston driver was not injured. Authorities cited the Byron driver for disregarding a stop sign, failure to reduce speed, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
