ROCHELLE — Alfano’s Rochelle marked its 30th anniversary with a community celebration recognizing the business’s long history and local impact on Friday. The restaurant was originally opened by Pete Alfano’s grandfather, and Alfano later returned to continue the family legacy after promising to carry on the business.
Pete Alfano said, “It’s been a blessing, that’s for sure. Great community, great people. And it’s kind of funny because my grandfather told me that he was here before me. He said how special Rochelle was. Well, you know what? I concur. He’s 100 percent correct. That’s why we are here. My promise to him.”

City officials and Rochelle Chamber of Commerce members attended the event and presented a plaque in recognition of the milestone. Alfano credited the success to his staff and the community.
