DEKALB — Residents are invited to attend upcoming ward meetings with DeKalb aldermen to discuss city concerns and local issues. A Seventh Ward meeting with Alderman John Walker will be held today from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Hampton Inn Conference Room at 663 S. Annie Glidden Road. Walker will give opening remarks, lead discussion and take public comments. Topics include speeding in Devonaire Farms, development on Windmill Way, ticketing of parked vehicles blocking sidewalks, city services provided by Midwest Professional Empire & Associates LLC and a Juneteenth event at Van Buer Plaza. A First Ward meeting with Alderman Carolyn Zasada will be held Monday, June 15, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Mitchell Elementary School at 1240 Normal Road. The outdoor meeting will include discussion of First Ward concerns, time for public comments and additional topics submitted in advance. Both meetings are in person only and attendees may record or livestream the sessions.
