ROCHELLE — News Media Corporation, founded in 1975 in Rochelle, has ceased operations, ending publication of the Rochelle News-Leader, Ogle County Life, and all its remaining newspapers. The company once owned dozens of publications across the country, including in Illinois, Wyoming, Oregon, and Arizona, and had recently entered a management agreement with Carpenter Media Group in 2024. Wednesday marked the final issue of the Rochelle News-Leader, closing nearly five decades of local journalism rooted in Ogle County.
