A pinch-hit solo home run by Derek Hill in the bottom of the 8th inning Tuesday night gave the Chicago White Sox a 6-5 win over the Kansas City Royals.
It was the third straight win for Chicago.
The White Sox also got a 3-run home run from Chase Meidroth and a solo shot by Drew Romo.
Seranthony Dominguez got the win in releif with Bryan Hudson getting the final 3 outs for his second save.
The Royals got solo home runs from Bobby Witt Jr. and Salvador Perez in the first inning.
Kansas City has lost 4 out of their last 6 games.
Game 2 in the series is Wednesday night at Rate Field in Chicago.
