Rochelle City Council Honors Colwill And Approves Planning And Zoning Changes

ROCHELLE — The Rochelle City Council on Monday night presented a plaque to Wendell Pal Colwill in recognition of his service and accepted his resignation from the Planning and Zoning Commission. Colwill has served on the commission for years and is currently in a term that runs through 2028, with service dating back to at least 2002 and prior experience on the city council.  It was also noted he served 40 years on the Rochelle Fire Department. Following the resignation, the council appointed Chris Tennegren as a voting member of the Planning and Zoning Commission. The commission includes seven members who live within 1.5 miles of the city limits and four at large members appointed by the mayor with council approval. Members typically serve five year terms.
