WASHINGTON DC – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has issued an emergency fuel waiver to allow nationwide sales of E15 gasoline and to remove federal impediments to selling E10. The waiver is set to be in effect from May 1 to May 20, but theEPA said it could be extended. Illinois Fuel and Retail Association CEO Nate Harris said early last month that fuel prices would rise if Gov. J.B. Pritzker did not opt back into the federal E10 waiver.
