SYCAMORE — A 20-year-old McHenry man is facing a felony charge after police said he unlawfully recorded another person in a grocery store restroom on March 1st in the 500 block of Peace Road in Sycamore. Officers responded to the report but the suspect left before they arrived. A witness provided photos of the man and his vehicle. Police later identified the suspect as Jerardo Hernandez Alonzo of McHenry. During an interview at his home, he allegedly admitted to the incident. A search of his cell phone found evidence of similar incidents in another area more than a year ago, which is now under investigation by another agency. An arrest warrant was issued on March 24 and Hernandez Alonzo turned himself in. He was charged with one count of unauthorized video recording, a Class 4 felony, and was released after booking with a notice to appear in court.
