Rochelle Elementary District 231 Sets Summer Timeline for Building Upgrades

ROCHELLE — Rochelle Elementary District 231 board members learned Tuesday night that construction at Tilton School remains on schedule for completion this spring. Workers expect to finish the new addition in May before shifting focus to renovations within the original building. All work must conclude by July 31 to ensure classrooms are ready for the upcoming academic year. At Rochelle Middle School, a $50,000 state grant will fund the replacement of cabinets and sinks in two science labs. The middle school also will receive new energy efficient LED lighting in the cafeteria and several classrooms to replace old fluorescent fixtures. Maintenance crews are currently gathering price quotes to repair a problematic entry door at Central School during the summer break.
