Rochelle Reduces Nonprofit Liquor License Fees

ROCHELLE — The Rochelle City Council Monday night passed an ordinance that would amend city code to reduce the annual liquor license fee for nonprofit organizations to $100 beginning with the 2026 fiscal year. The proposal was requested by the city’s liquor commissioner and would change the current fees paid by three local nonprofit groups that together generate $2,650 each year. Those organizations include the Moose Lodge and Floyd J. Tilton VFW Post 3878, which each pay $1,200 annually, and VCCT doing business as the Lincoln Arts Center Theatre, which pays $250. Under the new rules, each organization would pay a flat $100 annual fee. It was announced Rochelle would issue refunds totaling $2,350 to the three nonprofit organizations to reflect the difference between the amount already paid for the 2026 license year and the new fee.
