Polo Hiring Two More Part Time Police Officers

POLO – The Polo Police Department will be adding more reserve officers to help with planned and unplanned staffing shortages. It was announced on Monday night that they will be adding on a part-time basis Peter Lubbers from the Freeport Police Department and Noah Knight from the Rochelle Police Department. Mayor Mark Scholl said they are more economical than hiring more full time officers, and can be used to fill in gaps of coverage due to officers who are currently on leave or out for personal reasons. He said the goal would be to have 7 reserve officers available for community events, like Town and Country Days
