SCHAUMBURG — An elderly Stillman Valley man accused of gunning down his daughter-in-law outside a Schaumburg hotel is pleading not guilty. Roland Schmidt is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 45-year-old Christine Moyer from Ohio. Prosecutors say the 76-year-old defendant shot the victim on July 25th after a family wedding because she was divorcing his son. Authorities say Schmidt planned to kill Moyer and then take his own life.
