DeKALB, Ill. – Northern Illinois University will kick off the 124th season of Huskie Football on Saturday, August 30 versus Holy Cross at 2:30 p.m. on ESPN+, as game times and broadcast information for six of NIU’s 12 regular season were announced Thursday.
Thursday’s release included one date change as the Huskies’ game at Maryland will now be played on Friday night, September 5 with kick off at 6:30 p.m. on the Big Ten Network. The teams will meet for the first time since 2004 and for the fourth time overall.
NIU begins its final slate of #MACtion weeknight games on Wednesday, November 5 at Toledo on either ESPN2 or ESPNU with game time set for 6 or 7 p.m. depending on the network determination.
Both the Huskies’ game at UMass on Wednesday, November 12 and at home versus Western Michigan on Tuesday, November 18 will kick off at 6 p.m.. The games will air on either ESPN2, ESPNU or CBS Sports Network.
NIU will take on Kent State in its final regular season game as a member of the Mid-American Conference on Friday, November 28. The Black Friday contest will start at 11 a.m. and can be seen on either ESPNU or CBS Sports Network.
Game times for all remaining contests on the 2025 schedule will be announced at a later date.
